The Cabo Rico 38, designed by W.I.B. Crealock, has proven herself on the oceans of the world to be a classic in every sense of the word. This gorgeous cutter is in like-new condition. Stored for several years, she has only 900 original engine hours and features a private aft quarter cabin with double berth. Well equipped with high quality cruising and safety gear: single handers package (all lines lead aft to cockpit), safety pulpits at mast, superior ground tackle with chain, electric windlass, SSB radio, GPS, EPIRB, chart plotter, Furuno RADAR, autopilot, Heart inverter/charger, over sized alternator, battery monitor system, refrigeration. For cruising in the tropics this cool yacht boasts excellent ventilation from many opening ports, overhead hatches, fans, and louvered doors throughout. There is no other yacht that elicits as many admiring looks as she glides gracefully into an anchorage. Central Fort Lauderdale location and easy to see, she is in turn-key condition and ready for new adventures. See photos at the bottom of this page.
Bill Crealock: "The Cabo Rico 38 hull shape is the one in which everything came together best. Designed with a low profile to eliminate excessive freeboard, she can make excellent headway in high wind conditions where reduced leeway is critical."

Cabo Rico´s history is truly unique in the boat building industry. The company was born over 40 years ago in a corner of the British Leland assembly plant in San Jose, Costa Rica, through a yachtsman's love for boating. This man, John Schofield, knew first-hand the craftsmanship and work ethic exhibited by Costa Ricans, who are highly skilled and well educated. They have lived with pride in a politically stable democracy for well over 100 years – Costa Rica, the Switzerland of the Americas.
The Cabo Rico artisans use only the finest materials available world wide. The exquisite, honey colored Costa Rican teak is plantation grown and, due to the far-thinking environmental and ecological policies of this prosperous little country, will continue to be grown into the future. All of the thousands of components (with the exception of the teak) are sourced from the United States. You know these respected names: Harken, Schaefer, Profurl, Edson, Lewmar, Force 10, Yanmar, Raritan, Corian... to mention but a few. Roy Pinney, of Venture Yacht Sales in Fort Lauderdale, was associated with Cabo Rico's designer, Bill Crealock for many years prior to his death.

Excellent engine access is provided from under the athwartship portion of the L settee.

The interior of this vessel is exquisite. She is finished in honey blonde teak and has teak and holly sole throughout. The result: a galley that provides plenty of work space and storage (a cruising chef's dream), a large, comfortable aft berth and great engine access.
